Ductless Air Conditioning units and Heat Pumps
Homeowners without forced air heating and cooling systems now have an energy efficient option. Sometimes known as mini splits these ductless air conditioning units have two main components: an outdoor heat pump, and an indoor air-handling unit. Controlled by a remote control, mini split systems are capable of both cooling and heating.
ADVANTAGES - Air conditioning for ductless homes.
The main advantages of mini splits systems are the ability to install air conditioning in homes, condominiums and rooms without ducts. They are ideal for retrofitting that sticky uncomfortable room. Ductless mini split systems are typically easier to install than other types of space conditioning systems. Since mini splits have no ducts, they avoid the energy losses associated with ductwork of central forced air systems. Duct losses can account for more than 30% of energy consumption.
